Movement is creating an instability, making motion to blur the image. Movement can be achieved by using graphic elements that direct the eye in a certain direction such as arrows that point the way overtly or a series of lines or dots that get progressively larger or smaller, creating a more subtle sense of movement. Once the brain recognizes the pattern in the rhythm, it can relax and better comprehend the rest of the design. Designers use unity to make elements in a composition appear to belong together. When each elements has a clear visual relationship to one or more other elements, the composition is unified. Project Eleven - Pick 2 PoD's
Your call, you must use two principles of design that you have illustrated to make one composition. You MUST type your used principles of Design on your page so I do not have to guess at the principles you used. You will need THIS FORM to complete your project in Photoshop. You will need to complete 5 finished pages using 2 design principles and you can not reuse a principle.
Project 12 - Grid Exercise
You now have an understanding of the design principles, you will solve a page layout puzzle using this file. Download the file and open it in InDesign. I will show you how to do this. You will need to complete this by end of class.
Design Project One - Recipe Design
Well, here we go. Your first Design Project where you can show me your understanding of the design principles. Everything you will need to complete this project is in THIS ZIP FILE. I will provide you with the creative brief during class and then you will be able to begin your design using InDesign only. You MUST submit your PDF to me and upload a .jpg file to your Weebly site.
Design Project Two - Audi Car Ad
For your next Design Project you will create a full-page color ad for the car maker Audi. Audi has a target market. Once you get the creative brief, you will need to develop copy to align with Audi's target market. Plus you need to make an ad that makes me want to buy that Audi car. You will be given a cool Audi car photo and Audi's logo to use in the ad. Download this FILE.
Design Project Three - Book Cover Design
This project will take every bit of two weeks to complete. There are several steps to this project that you will need to keep a record of your stages of progress. All in all, you will need to show me, Thumbnails, Roughs, Revised Roughs, and your final design along with your artist statement. The creative brief can be found here. The book cover template you will need to place into InDesign can be found here.
